Paraguay Jo Hazleton of the Church Mission Society asks that we pray for pastor Luis Echeverria as he completes his theological education and for his desire to prepare his thesis on the theme of the Presence of God. Grant him wisdom and spiritual perception as he studies and leads the Zeballos Cue church.

March 30.

The Association of Teachers and Lecturers has its annual conference in Manchester. Pray for the motions debated and those who speak.  Pray that Christians in the Association (probably more than we think) are able to present their views.

March 31.

Indonesia Gwyneth Jones says: In Indonesia many 'fields' need harvesters. Pray for our people to be prepared for the long haul of language and culture learning - to become as an Indonesian to the Indonesians - in order to communicate relevantly the message of reconciliation.

April 1.

Sherborne ACT’s local contact, Mark Greenstock, asks: “Please pray for Dr Graham Kings, the new Bishop of Sherborne, and his impact on schools and colleges throughout Dorset.”

International Children's Book Day  Pray that the Bible will be made accessible to children today, especially! It’s also World Autism Awareness Day, so let’s remember Christian schools which specialise in nurturing autistic youngsters.

Havering and District Barbara Gatherum says: “Pray for a number of prayer weeks planned for secondary schools in Havering during the spring.”

ROMANS 10:12 (NIV) The same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him.

NASUWT and NUT unions are in annual conference. Pray that Christians may be salt and light in these organisations.

April 6.

Schools are, for many young people, the only secure places in their lives. For others, school means anxiety and sometimes fear. Pray for God’s love to fill a school you know.

Kenya Edith Currie asks: “Please continue to pray for staff and students at AIC Missionary Training College in Kenya. Many of the students struggle to find their college fees. Pray that friends and churches would support the students both prayerfully and financially. Pray for staff at the college carrying a heavy workload.”

Slovakia Chris Elston says: “We are now looking to Him to reveal the next stage – is the project eventually to become a fully-fledged Christian language school? Am I to return next September after teaching courses in Slovakia January to June?”

Stapleford Centre Please pray for the Stapleford Centre team as they develop a follow-on resource, most likely web-based, to the highly successful REthinking series. Pray for wisdom, inspiration and insight into what will be most helpful for Primary and Secondary RE teachers.

April 13.

Paraguay Pray for all Christian school staff and in particular Alison Hawksbee and Tally (of Asuncion Christian Academy), all St Andrews staff, including head teacher Gwen Carlisle, deputy head Mags Southern, teachers Babs Owen, Sue Nagaitis, Nicky Irene and Caroline Brooks, Linn Tedman (librarian), Miriam Greco (school administrator), Regina Echeverria (in the school bookshop) and English volunteer Lara, for creativity, wisdom, energy, authority, knowledge and love for their pupils.

April 14.

Principals, headteachers and senior managers Pray for Christians who work as leaders in schools and colleges. Ask that they be blessed with wisdom and humility in all they do, able to lead and serve in equal measure. Pray that they will be a wonderful Christian witness to students and staff, and to the wider community.

April 15.

Peru Led by Patricia Blanchard, Shalom is a mission for disabled children in a poor part of Lima. The younger ones receive pre-school education and early stimulation, followed by a rolling programme of personalised therapies. Pray God’s blessings on Shalom.

April 16.

ACT website Thank God for ACT’s website and pray that many more Christians working in education will join ACT via the website.

Denmark Hans Jørgen Hansen asks: “Please pray for the teachers. Many teachers are having a hard time and several have had breakdowns because there are too many children with specific problems.”

Isle of Wight Vivienne Collins says: “The church school is now at the heart of the Church of England’s mission to the nation: pray for wisdom, boldness and an open door to be ‘distinctively Christian’ in our many church schools here on the Isle of Wight.”

 

April 21.

Kenya Edith Currie asks: “Please pray for the second year mission class as they spend a term out of college for field experience. Pray that this will be a valuable time for the students, and their families, as they try to put into practice what they’ve been learning. Pray for good health and the Lord’s provision of all their needs.”
