Another delightful nativity musical from the reliable “stable” – Out of the Ark Music! The Big Star, however hard he tried, couldn’t shine. The other stars told him he had an important job to do - shine brightly to show people the way to where Jesus was born. But although they tried to help, he still couldn’t shine. The shepherds stumbled to the stable in the dark and the kings didn’t know where they were or where to go. Eventually the other stars led the big star to the stable where he could see Mary, Joseph and the baby. As he watched, he could feel the baby loved him and the whole world, and he began to shine brighter and brighter . . .
The seven songs are simple and catchy with repetition of words making them easier for KS1 children to learn. Main characters – shepherds, kings, stars and an angel – have just one line each to say, and there are narrator parts. Mary and Joseph are non-speakers and there is the opportunity for as many of the obligatory sheep and camels as there is room for to be involved!
The CD contains songs, sung by a children’s choir, and backing tracks. The book provides the piano music, lyrics and script, and ideas for Early Years extension work.
This “sparkling nativity musical” will be enjoyed by both young children (3-6 years) and audiences while clearly sharing the message that Jesus, God’s son, brings his love to all.
